5 STAR OBC ARE LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

Old Boys Clapham won the Division One title thanks to a comfortable 5-1 win at in form Westside Reserves. The score was 0-0 at half time after Matt Belk had an effort incorrectly ruled out for offside after Emmett Shingler had his shot come back off the post and tucked home by Belk from four yards out. Shingler was the most advanced OBC player when he took the shot so it should not have mattered where Belk was standing when he tapped into an empty net. It was not to matter as Idjiwa Adjido and Alex Whelan scored their first goals for the club shortly after the break. Westside hit a well taken goal with some good interplay by the forwards and robbed Charlie Horner of a clean sheet in goal. Belk hit the killer third when Adam Peters stopped the ball from going out for a throw in but as Westside stood still OBC played on and it was 3-1. Belk doubled his tally from the penalty spot after substitute Dean Barrett was felled in the box. Dean Barrett wrapped up the game with a fifth as the game drew to a close. It was a landmark 50th OBC goal for Barrett from 89 appearances. Old Boys Clapham have succeeded in securing back to back league titles and have already won one cup this season and the County Cup final awaits on Thursday 10th May.

12min: Andy Dundas' corner is scrambled cleared , Idjiwa shoots wide of the left post .

25min :Emmett Shingler sprints pass the right back a fires a great shoot which hits the post , Matt follows up the rebound to shot into an empty net . Linesman flags and referee (wrongly) disallows the goal .
